AN AMAZING PLACE
Situated between the banks of the Piedra and Ortiz rivers in one of the most arid part of the Cordillera Ibérica mountain range at an elevation of 780 meters, the monastery is hidden in one of the most beautiful landscapes imaginable.
Surrounded by waterfalls and lakles, depp forest and grottos, the Monastery of Nuestra Señora de Piedra (Holly Virgin of the Stone) was founded in the 13th century by monks of the Cistercian Order from Poblet.
This enchanting place has been beatufully preserved and is consudered as a Historic Monument and Cultural Interest Site.
